LaTeX formula rendering can be enabled in the Abstract Module Settings, allowing your authors to construct complex mathematical formulas and add them to the text of their abstract, where they will be properly displayed.
In the 'Abstract module settings', you can choose whether or not to use LaTeX code in your abstracts.
Please click here for more info about enabling LaTeX code.
Text enclosed by the configured opening and closing delimiters will be rendered as mathematical formulas.
You can choose 'Default' or 'Custom' delimiters.
Inline formulas are displayed on the same line as surrounding text.
Block formulas are displayed on their own separate line.
Using LaTeX code is made even easier with the Formula plugin, where authors can get a preview of their formula as they are working on it, and they can also freely switch between the LaTeX code and the displayed formulas in the abstract text editor.
The author can add the LaTeX as plain text.
And then use the 'Eye' button to show (or hide) the formulas.
The author can also use the 'Add/edit formula' button.
A new screen will be opened. The author can type the plain LaTeX text in the field 'LaTeX code' and automatically the formula is shown in the 'Formula preview' field.
Use the 'Text wrap' option to add the formula 'Inline' or as a 'Block'.
Inline formulas are displayed on the same line as surrounding text.
Block formulas are displayed on their own separate line.
Please be aware that LaTeX formulas will only be rendered within Eventure Online, for example in the Abstract, Review, Scientific Committee and Public websites. Your emails, PDFs, Excel reports, Word documents and XML exports will simply contain the plain text LaTeX code, and external parties (such as mobile developers) must implement support for these formulas themselves.
