Before you can setup the session proposal module, you first need to activate it.
After clicking on the 'Activate module' button, you need to confirm to activate the module.
Via the module settings you can set a 'Module start' and 'Module deadline' date to have the module automatically be opened or closed.
By using the checkbox 'Allow open session proposals' you can allow proposers to create an open session proposal. Authors can register themselves for this session in the abstract module.
By using the checkbox 'Allow closed session proposals' you can allow proposers to create a closed session proposal, including abstract and author proposals. Authors can be invited to finish their submissions.
The 'Abstract Data Fields' tab of the proposal module content page displays all of the visible abstract fields of the abstract module that are displayed on your proposal website. Only the fields are shown which are visible in your abstract module.
In order to change the visible fields setting, simply click on the 'Edit' button and use the checkboxes to determine which fields are visible to your proposers.

Free selection 1 and 2.
A free selection item is a multiple choice checkbox field.
You can create 'Free selection items' via the module settings of the session proposal module. This is where you set the answers your session proposers can choose from.
Via the 'Add free selection 1' button you can add a new option in the list.
Use the 'Import' button to create a template and import the options.
Use the 'Export' button to export your options to an excel file.
The following screenshot shows an example of what the session proposer sees when he/she chooses from the options of the free selection items.
