Any new abstract handling modules that you create will automatically make use of affiliations. These function is pretty much the same as the old institutes, with a few noticable differences. Your current congresses will however still see the old institute fields and nothing has changed for your authors.
The following new features are included in the affiliations:
-
-
All authors will now make use of the same setup for the affiliations, whether they are a contact person, main author or co-author.
- A maximum of three affiliations can be added per author.
- The affiliations can be ordered by dragging them in the desired order, where the first affiliation will serve as their primary affiliation.
- The company, city and country fields can no longer be filled in individually. Instead they will be filled with the data of the primary affiliation.
- Affiliations can be displayed in your emails and on your module websites, and you can choose to display all affiliations, or only the primary affiliation.
- Affiliations will be displayed in your abstract and program book and you can choose how the numbers of the affiliations should be separated.
-
Affiliations can be shared across the entire abstract handling website, allowing contact persons to choose between any affiliation that was previously added to the system. If this option is not enabled, contact persons can only make use of the affiliations they created themselves, as was the case with the institutes.
- A new 'Affiliations' tab has been added to the 'Abstract Module Settings', allowing you to set the maximum number of affiliations per author, whether to show the affiliations, whether to show only the primary affiliation and whether the affiliations can be shared with other authors.
Here is an example of when the setting 'Show affiliations' is enabled:
And when the setting is disabled:
In the pulldown you can choose how to separate the affiliation number if an author has more than one affiliation.

All authors will now make use of the same setup for the affiliations, whether they are a contact person, main author or co-author.
